How to Write Bold and Italic Text on X (Twitter)

X lets some Premium subscribers format posts on the web, but most people — and the X mobile apps — can’t. Unicode styles work for everyone, in posts, replies and your bio.
Steps
- Type your text in the bold, italic or strikethrough generator.
- Copy the style you like.
- Paste it into your post on X.
Watch the character count
X counts most styled letters as two characters, so a fully bold post fills the limit about twice as fast. Style a few words rather than the whole post.
Hashtags and search
Styled words aren’t matched by search or hashtags. Keep #hashtags, @mentions and keywords in plain text.
